- — Christmas concerts by Keelings to aid hungry

PYMATUNING TOWNSHIP – Christmas with The Keelings will be presented at 7 p.m. today and 3 p.m. Saturday in Lakeside Evangelical Congregational Church, 3203 N. Hermitage Road. Doors open 30 minutes prior to concert times.

A free ticket, available by calling 724-962-4222 or 724-253-3339, and two or more non-perishable food items are required for admission. An offering will also be accepted.

New Virginia to host Jesus party, cantata

HERMITAGE – New Virginia United Methodist Church, 1100 S. Keel Ridge Road, will host a party for children preschool to sixth grade to learn about Jesus’ birth. The party is set for 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday. Crafts and a story will be used and pizza and snacks served.

The church will present their Christmas cantata at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 23.

Cedar Ave. Bible Church hosts Amish brothers

SHARON – The local chapter of Full Gospel Businessmen will sponsor Steve and Jake Lapp, Amish brothers and founders of Light of Hope Ministries who were once excommunicated by leaders of the old Amish order, at a 10 a.m. service Saturday in Cedar Avenue Bible Church, 664 Cedar Ave. The Lapps will give their testimony, then minister in healing at 11 a.m. Sunday in the church.

New Life Baptist slates ‘Home for Christmas’

NEW WILMINGTON – A dramatic musical celebration for the entire family, “Home for Christmas,” will be performed at 6 p.m. Saturday and at 9 and 11 a.m. Sunday in New Life Baptist Church, 3414 state Route 208. The 9 a.m. Sunday service will include a deaf interpretation.

Couple to give concert in Lebanon Presbyterian

UCC choirs host ‘Name That (Christmas) Tune’

TRANSFER – The joint choirs of Pymatuning Charge, St. Mark’s United Church of Christ, New Hamburg, and Zion’s United Church of Christ, have slated a Christmas program at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Zion’s Church, 17 Church St.

Choirs will sing Christmas words to familiar tunes and guests will be asked to “Name That Tune.” Fellowship with refreshments will follow.

Clarks Mills Methodist offers ‘Bethlehem’ tour

CLARKS MILLS – Clarks Mills United Methodist Church, 3813 Hadley Road, will transform itself into the village of Bethlehem for “A Night in Bethlehem: A Hands on Holy Land Experience” from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Members and guests are invited to walk through and experience what it was like during the time of Christ’s birth while meeting Isaiah, the Old Testament prophet; joining in the census decreed by Caesar Augustus; hearing the story of the shepherds and angels; seeing Mary, Joseph and Jesus in the manger; and visiting several shops and tents. The event is free.

Covenant chancel choir, orchestra stages cantata

SHARON – The 65-member Chancel Choir and Orchestra of Covenant Presbyterian Church, 263 E. State St., will perform its annual Christmas cantata, “The Winter Rose,” at 7 p.m. Sunday. Featured will be soloists Cathy Szabo, Patty Norris, Jim Stevenson and Elizabeth Crowll.

Nursery is available. A reception will follow.

Deliverance services set at New & Living Way

FARRELL – New and Living Way Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, 927 Lee Ave., will hold an hour of restoration and deliverance, “Power of Deliverance,” at 10 a.m. each Thursday in the church.

New Light sets ‘The Light’ adult fellowship

SHARON – New Light Missionary Baptist Church will hold “The Light,” an adult fellowship with praise dance, singing, poetry, Christian jazz and refreshments, at 8 p.m. Dec. 21 in the church’s Christian education center, on the corner of Morrison Street and Cedar Avenue.

Participants will be Jeffery Baymon as DJ, and Danielle Wilder, mistress of ceremonies.

Children’s pageant slated at Trinity Presbyterian

MERCER – Children at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 110 East Market St., will present a Christmas pageant during the 11 a.m. service Dec. 22.

The church is accessible for everyone. An adult-supervised nursery is available.

TRANSFER – Zion’s United Church of Christ, 17 Church St., will celebrate the birth of Christ at 7 p.m. Dec. 23 with the reading of a children’s story, “The Legend of the Candy Cane,” climaxing with a candlelight service.
