Trinity Presbyterian to host guest speaker
MERCER – Cindy Philson, commissioned ruling elder, Stoneboro, will be guest speaker Sunday at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 110 East Market St.
Organist James Sankey will present a program of carols from around the world at 10:35 a.m., preceding the 11 a.m. service.

N.J. evangelist to lead Temple of Praise revival
SHARON – Evangelist Gilbert White will conduct revival services at Temple of Praise Church of God in Christ, 170 N. Sharpsville Ave., from Sunday through New Year’s Day.
Service times are 5 p.m. Sunday, 7 p.m. Monday, 10 p.m. Tuesday for Watch Night on New Year’s Eve, and 7 p.m. Wednesday, New Year’s Day.
Evangelist White is pastor of God in Action Church of God in Christ in Newark, N.J. and serves as an international evangelist for the denomination. He is the brother of Bishop Richard “Mr. Clean” White.

HERMITAGE – Crossing Paths TV ministry is now airing on Cornerstone Television at 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays.
The program airs locally on UHF29, a 24-hour Christian station in Hermitage, as well as at 8 a.m. Sundays on Time Warner channel 5, at 8:30 a.m. Sundays and 1:30 a.m. Thursdays on WYFX-TV, and at 1:30 a.m. Fridays on WKBN-Channel 27 in Youngstown.

Life’s hardships can lead us right into path of God’s providence
Early on in ministry, there came an experience I would be glad to have never again in this life. Having been called by a young husband to come, I drove into the driveway of a modest home in a quiet neighborhood. The caller’s wife answered my knock at the door – her face ashen, a look of horror in her eyes. She rushed into my arms, blurting out the words, “Oh Pastor, my baby is dead!”

Winter weariness can get us down but God brings relief
Have you noticed the exhausted, out-of-gas energy levels residents are displaying these days? There are less than 30 days left of this long, very cold winter. Residents are winter weary from the relentless snow storms and cold spells that seem to be coming back to back. We’re all suffering from cabin fever and the effects of restricted sunlight. Counselors refer to the human impact of this season as SAD – Seasonal Affective Disorder.
