BET guest set for concert at Temple of Praise

SHARON – Temple of Praise Church of God in Christ, 170 Sharpsville Ave., will hold “Soldier On,” the second in an annual concert series, at 6 p.m. Saturday.

Featured guests will be first ladies Daphanny C. Baker and Tami Bolling Harrison. Special guest will be David Michael from BET’s “Sunday’s Best.”

Evangelist to speak at New Beginning

Church hosts guests for installation services

FARRELL -- Community Missionary Baptist Church, 1013 Emerson Ave., in conjunction with the installation of the Rev. Troy D. Hunter as pastor, will host guest speaker the Rev. Dr. Kelvin E. Turner, pastor of Zion Baptist Church, Portsmouth, Va., at a special service at 11 a.m. Sunday in the church.

The installation service is at 4 p.m. in Robert E. Chavers Community Center, 211 Federal St., with Bishop Kenneth Paramore of Christ-Centered Church, Youngstown, and other guests participating.

New Light sets ‘The Light’ adult fellowship

SHARON – New Light Missionary Baptist Church will hold its winter celebration of “The Light,” an adult fellowship with praise dance, singing, poetry, Christian jazz and refreshments, at 8 p.m. Jan. 18 in the church’s Christian education center on the corner of Morrison Street and Cedar Avenue. Featured will be “A Tribute to the King,” honoring the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Participants will be Jeffery Baymon as DJ, Daniele Wilder, mistress of ceremonies and Anthony Phillips as chef.

Ministerial group slates MLK service Jan. 19

FARRELL – Shenango Valley Ministerial Association’s annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. service will be held at 4 p.m. Jan. 19 in Second Baptist Church, 1138 Spearman Ave.

The Rev. Raymond O. Brown, pastor of Mount Olive Baptist Church, Masury, will speak.

End times program at Shiloh Intrusion Ministries

GROVE CITY – “Why is This Happening? Floods, earthquakes, disasters,” a program about end times and the church ages from the book of Revelation, is scheduled from 9:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 1 at Shiloh Intrusion Ministries, 124è S. Center St.
