Birthday party for Jesus at Wheatland church
WHEATLAND – A Birthday Party for Jesus is scheduled from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Wheatland-Farrell United Methodist Church, 75 Mercer Ave.

Christmas vespers Sunday at Westminster

Singing Chargers to present Advent program
SHEAKLEYVILLE – Sheakleyville United Methodist Charge, composed of Old Salem, North Salem and Sheakleyville U.M. churches, will present an Advent program, "Jesus is Emmanuel," at 3 p.m. Sunday in Sheakleyville United Methodist Church. New Virginia to host party about Jesus’ birth
HERMITAGE – New Virginia United Methodist Church, 1100 S. Keel Ridge Road, will host a party for children preschool to sixth grade to learn about Jesus’ birth. The party is set for 10 to 11:30 a.m. Dec. 14. Crafts and a story will be used and pizza and snacks served.

Couple to give concert in Lebanon Presbyterian

St. Anthony to host Advent Recollection
SHARON – St. Anthony Church, 804 Idaho St., will host an “Advent Day of Recollection” starting at noon Dec. 15. Speaker will be the Rev. Lester Knoll, a priest of the Capuchin Franciscan Order whose home parish is Mater Dolorosa in Chicora in the Pittsburgh Diocese.
Theme will be “Giving Birth to Christ.” Rev. Knoll will present two sessions with question-and-answer opportunities. The program will also feature adoration, confessions, benediction and closing Mass, including a homily. The Mass will fulfill and the Sunday obligation for the Third Sunday of Advent.

Award-winning flutist at First Church of God
GREENVILLE – Flutist David Konstantopoulos will give a concert at 6 p.m. Sunday in First Church of God, 192 Vernon Road. He was World Vision’s Independent Artist of the Year in 2009 and a Wurlitzer Collegiate Artist Competition winner in the state of Indiana.
