St. Paul’s sets Scouts Sunday, healing service

HERMITAGE – All Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Explorers, Venturing Scouts, leaders, alumni, and Scouting families are invited to celebrate Boy Scout Sunday at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 159 Todd Ave. on Feb. 9.

Coffee and donuts will be served at 10:30 a.m., with the worship service at 11. The Custaloga Town Scout Camp chaplain, the Rev. David Williamson of St. Paul’s, will present a free patch to all Scouts and leaders in uniform.

The church will have a special service of prayer and anointing for healing at 11 a.m. Feb. 16. Rev. Williamson explained the service is not about “so-called guaranteed miracle cures and instant healing,” but to call attention to “God’s presence and active participation in healing our bodies, minds, and souls.”

All are welcome to attend and ask for prayers on behalf of themselves or loved ones. Light refreshments will precede the service at 10:30 a.m.
