Cross Walkers needed for rally

YOUNGSTOWN, HERMITAGE — Volunteers are needed to help with the Cross Walk leading up to the 5th Annual Men’s Rally in the Valley on May 3 in the Covelli Centre.

Featured speakers at this year’s rally are Phil and Al Robertson of A&E’s “Duck Dynasty.” Other speakers include former NFL All-Pro linebacker and coach Mike Singletary and team chaplains Ken Johnson of the Indianapolis Colts and Rod Hairston of the Baltimore Ravens.

Theme is “Dare to be Daniels: No Compromise, No Retreat.”

Cross Walk participants join together to carry large crosses from points north, east and west of Youngstown, coordinated to converge on the rally site before the start of the event, which is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Cross Walk participation, which offers opportunities to share in fellowship, prayer and praise, is open to all. Some men walk the entire 18 miles but others take breaks riding in support vehicles. Volunteers are needed not only to carry the cross but to provide support services, including cars, church vans or motor homes.

The Cross Walk from the east starts at the Shenango Valley YMCA, 925 N. Hermitage Road, Hermitage.

For more information about the Cross Walk, call Skip Siefert, 724-456-0320. For information about the rally, go to www.mensrally.org Tickets are $30.
