WM beats Highland to advance to Section 2 Senior Division (15-16) title game

— Kyle Wimer belted a home run and ripped 3 singles as West Middlesex edged Highland, 11-10, in the Section 2 Senior Division (15-16) semifinals in West Middlesex on Friday.
Also for WM, Matt Young had 2 doubles, Marcus Murray and Logan Mihalcak both collected a pair of singles and Gino Colella, Brandon Kirk, Colby Howe and D.J. Markle all added singles.
Markle and Murray split mound duties for the locals. Markle fanned 4, walked 2 and allowed 3 runs on 3 hits in 3 2/3 innings. Murray struck out 4, walked 7 and yielded 7 runs on 4 hits.
Troy Nemeth suffered the mound loss for Highland. Offensively, R.C. Betts homered, Aaron Anderson doubled and singled and Ben Barch posted 2 singles.
The title game is scheduled for 2 p.m. today.
