A pair of former Pittsburgh Pirates’ stars showed off their golf talents on Wednesday at the Lifetime Television Scramble at Tam O’Shanter Golf Course.
Steve Blass, a Pirates mound star who played with the Buccos in 1964 and from 1966-74, and Rick Reuschel, a Bucs hurler from 1985-87, played in the scramble along with their respective wives Karen and Barb.
Blass is a radio and TV broadcaster for the Pirates. He also has pinch-hit at times for booth pal Lanny Frattare as emcee at the annual Mercer County Hall of Fame banquet.
The unique scramble included two-men and two-women teams for the event, which raises money to battle breast cancer.
Kim Kerins runs the tourney each year and there were a lot of prizes as well as an auction offering golf packages and other amenities.
Wednesday marked the 10th anniversary of the tournament.
