The 2008 high school fall sports season kicked off in Pennsylvania Monday with a number of local teams hitting the links.

BOYS GOLF

ä Hickory 321, Slippery Rock 341, Sharon 351, Grove City 359, Wilmington 380, Lakeview 393 — At Tam O’Shanter, the Hornets earned 6 team points in capturing the Region 6 event.

Hickory’s Rick Rosati earned medalist honors by shooting a 77. Sharon’s Shawn Matsko, Hickory’s Matt Gurska and Grove City’s Ryan Prokay carded 79s.

Hickory — Rosati 77, Gurska 79, Will McIntyre 81, Dave Thomas 84.

Slippery Rock — Shawn Beatty, Jenna Rinker 83s, Tim Chavez 87, Jeff Tracy 88.

Sharon — Matsko 79, Bobby Sherretts 88, Jesse Koewacich 91, Justin Bastide 93.

Grove City — Prokay 79, Steve Deyarmin 90, Jeff Revesz 94, Jordan Orlowski 96.

Wilmington — Wes Jones 91, Matt Nystrom 92, Brandon Ferrari 98, Ryan Baldwin 99.
