Cumulus Sports Network’s Bob Greenburg has announced the tentative 30-game broadcast schedule for the 2008 scholastic football season.
Games on NewsTalk 790 (WPIC AM) and The River (WLLF, 96.7 FM) will air 30 minutes prior to kickoff, and the “Preston Pigskin” pre- and post-game shows will air 6-6:30 and (approximately) 9:30-11 p.m., respectively, every Friday night hosted by Gary Swanson.
Greenburg, entering his 21st year of broadcasting area scholastic sports said, “It’s the best staff anywhere, (with) all veteran announcers returning,” regarding Mark Slezak, Joe Klimchak, Chris Burtch, Jeff Wimer, Ryan Briggs and Hugh Ringer.
Greenburg also noted all games aired on WPIC (only) will be streamed live on the internet for family and friends at www.790wpic.com. Also, the weekly “PIC Sportsline” program on Mondays will feature a review and “Pigskin Pick ’em Preview” from 6:30-7 p.m.
And as the status quo for the past several seasons, Thiel College football will be broadcast Saturdays beginning Sept. 6 on WPIC, with Ringer offering play-by-play and and new color commentator Don Achenbach assisting.

ä Sept. 6 — Farrell at Mercer (WPIC), 7 p.m.
ä Sept. 12 — Sharpsville at West Middlesex (WPIC); Wilmington at Grove City (WLLF), 7 p.m.
ä Sept. 13 — Mercer at Kennedy Catholic (WLLF), noon.
ä Sept. 19 — Franklin at Grove City (WLLF); Lakeview at West Middlesex (WPIC), 7 p.m.
ä Sept. 20 — Kennedy Catholic at Sharpsville (WPIC); Sharon at Slippery Rock (WLLF), 7 p.m.
ä Sept. 26 — Grove City at Greenville (WLLF); Linesville at Farrell (WPIC), 7 p.m.
