GIRLS TENNIS

ä Hickory 3, Kennedy Catholic 2 — At Buhl Park, in a match continued from last week, the Hornettes (3-0) swept both doubles matches, led by the tandems of Annie Morgenstern and Nicole Amato and Emily Koledin and Annie Moroco. The latter ended in a 3rd-set tiebreaker.

Hallie Hudson and Michelle Bober won straight sets singles matches to key Kennedy (2-1).

Singles: Anna Wallace (H) def. Liz Weiner, 6-3, 0-6, 6-3; Hallie Hudson (KC) def. Angie Stigliano, 6-2, 6-2; Michelle Bober (KC) def. Kaity Ulewicz, 6-0, 6-2. Doubles: Annie Morgenstern-Nicole Amato (H) def. Liza Catania-Sammy Gibson, 6-4, 0-6, 6-2; Emily Koledin-Annie Moroco (H) def. Marina Wareham-Rachel Namey, 6-1, 1-6, 7-6(8-6).

ä Greenville 4, Sharon 1 — At Greenville, the host Lady Trojans triumphed in 4 straight-sets matches, while Kelsey Ferlin, at 2nd singles, was the lone winner for Sharon (0-4).

ä Grove City 5, Oil City 0 — At Oil City, the visiting Lady Eagles (3-0) eased to a handful of straight sets wins.

ä Wilmington 3, Sharon 2 — At Westminster College courts Tuesday, the host Greyhounds won both doubles matches to pull out the win.

ä Grove City 174, Slippery Rock 179 — At par-35 Oakview, the Eagles (3-2) edged their backyard rival, led by medalist Ryan Prokay’s round of 37.
