In Class A boys, the Mercer Mustangs suffered a 2-0 loss to the Lakers of Mercyhurst Prep. In Class AA girls, Wilmington suffered a 9-1 loss to Harbor Creek.

BOYS

Class A

ä Mercyhurst Prep 2, Mercer 0 — At Harbor Creek High School’s Paul J. Weitz Field, the Region 1 champion Mustangs (11-7-1) were shut out by at-large Mercyhurst Prep (14-2-3).

Max Weber and Josh Ott scored 2nd-half goals for MP. Connor Frawley and Tucker Bolding were credited with assists.

Mercer, which loses 11 seniors, outshot Prep 12-10.

Mustangs’ keeper Joel Solomon made 5 saves while Mercyhurst Prep’s Jordan Felice registered 3 saves. Felice has faced 189 shots on goal and only 8 have reached the net.

The only difference between the Lakers being a top seed or an at-large was 1 goal in an overtime loss to Fairview.

The Lakers advance to play the winner of Tuesday night’s match between Region 3 champ Fairview and at-large Eisenhower. That game followed the Mercer game at Harbor Creek High.

The Mercyhurst vs. Fairview-Eisenhower District 10 title match is on Saturday.

Fairview is the defending D-10 champions.
