ä Farrell 57, Kennedy Catholic 6 — At Butala Stadium, Hermitage, coach Jarrett Samuels’ visiting Steelers scored at will in building a 51-6 bulge by the break of the Region 1-A contest.
Farrell (8-0, 10-0) finished with 392 total yards on only 43 snaps in fine-tuning for its District 10 playoff opener with Eisenhower, 7 p.m. Friday at New Wilmington.
Danny Odem orchestrated the offense for Farrell, running 11 yards for one score and tossing 6- and 15-yard TDs to Preston Jefferson and 28 yards to Ron Jackson. Odem commenced the scoring a minute-and-a-half into the contest by returning an interception 20 yards for a touchdown.
Also for Farrell, Dion Eilam scooped up a fumble, returning it 11 yards for a score and also hauled in a 24-yard scoring strike from Odem. Kevin Brodie and Joneoel Goudy garnered 16- and 15-yard touchdown runs, as well.
For the Golden Eagles (1-7, 1-8) Richard Ellebie unloaded a 63-yard option pass to Chris Baker for Kennedy’s lone score. Ellebie, Baker, Jesse Bell, Michael DeMarco, Rocky Farmartino, Nick Fill, Jenna Green, Andrew Miller and Ken Moyer concluded their KC careers.
