Hickory High senior soccer star Sara Suler was recently named to the Pennsylvania Soccer Coaches Association All-State Team.
Suler had a phenomenal year in leading Hickory to the District 10 Championship, scoring 44 goals while assisting on 25 others. It was the most goals and overall points in the district.
”She played an instrumental role in helping our program win its first-ever D10 championship,” said Hickory coach B.J. Rudge. “She also scored the only goal in our 1 to 0 win over Moon in the first round of the PIAA tournament. Her goal came off of a corner kick 10 minutes in to the second half.”
Suler recored three four-goal matches, this season and in a big win over Meadville she nailed a hat trick and had four assists in the same game.
For her work, she was named Region Player of the Year and picked for the All-District Team. She was also the Erie Times Player of the Year and selected as the Reinhardts Insurance Agency Athlete of the Month.
She is the third Hickory player to be named All-State, joining Michelle DeGerolamo and Allison Richards. Suler was the only player from District 10 to make the All-State Team this year.
For her career, she scored 74 goals and had 56 assists. Both are third most in school history.
