At par-72 Tam O'Shanter Golf Course, Hermitage, the top 7 finishers from the 18-competitor field advanced to the District 10 tournament.

Kennedy Catholic’s Jacob Wilson was medalist after shooting a 79.

Following Wilson were: Zach Taylor (Reynolds), Chris Palutro (Lakeview), Nate Guiler (Mercer), Nick Deitrich (Greenville) and Jake Reaugh (Jamestown), all of whom carded 83s, and Terry Haaz (Kennedy Catholic), 85.

A tie-breaker was implemented, using each golfer’s score on No. 1.

Lady Picker Invitational


Hickory placed 5th on Tuesday at the annual Lady Picker Invite at Green Meadows Golf Club in North East.

Villa Maria won the event with a 354, followed by McDowell (374), Mercyhurst Prep (385), Meadville (389), Hickory (398), Ft. LeBoeuf (415), Reynolds (440) and North East (440).

Megan Moylan of North East finished 1st individually by carding a 72, 11 strokes better than 2nd place. Mercyhurst Prep’s Georgia Capotis and Abby Fessler of Villa Maria shot 83s.

Alena Lancia led the way for Hickory by shooting a 94 on the par-72 course. Izzy Schell carded a 97 for Reynolds.

At West Middlesex, Oil City’s Austin King finished 1st in 17:53, but Middlesex captured 7 of the next 9 spots in the top 10. Levi Canon placed 2nd for the Big Reds in 18:09.

ä Wilmington 17, Reynolds 43 — At Temple Grove, Transfer, the visiting Greyhounds 7 of the top 10 places, led by winner Jared Masters (20:07.8). Justin Pago (21:38.1) finished 4th for Reynolds.

ä Hickory 20, Greenville 41 — At Greenville, the visiting Hornets (4-0) captured 7 of the top 10 spots to earn the win. Dylan Foley clocked in at 17:38 to finish 1st overall for the Trojans. Kyle Boyd finished 2nd for Hickory in 18:01.

ä Grove City 15, Sharon 50 — At Buhl Park, the Eagles swept 8 of the top 10 spots. Aaron Benka finished 1st overall in 16:57 for GC. Matt Dilts was 8th for the Tigers.

ä West Middlesex 17, Oil City 43 —
At West Middlesex, Kristen White (20:52), Chloe Tyillian and Allyson Pierce swept the top 3 spots as the Ms. Reds rolled. Amanda Espy finished 4th for the Lady Oilers.

ä Hickory 17, Greenville 44 — At Greenville, Lexi Bible continued her impressive season by placing 1st for the Lady Hornets (4-0) in 20:03. She was followed by teammates Jackie Abraham, Haley Boyd and Bailey Brown. Nanami Mano finished 5th (21:57) to pace the Lady Trojans.

ä Sharpsville 22, Lakeview 36 — In the Shenango Valley, Maddie Prizinca staked Sharpsville to success in a winning time of 20:48; leading Lakeview was Andrea McConnell (21:59).

ä Grove City 19, Sharon 38 — At Buhl Park, GC’s Catie Jaskowak clocked in at 20:05 to finish 1st. Xsila Powell placed 2nd for the Lady Tigers.

ä Commodore Perry hosted Kennedy Catholic in a boys/girls’ meet, but KC did not field full squads in either race. Perry’s Nathan White (18:08) and Shae Grinnell (21:45) were the top finishers in the races, a pair of 15-50 forfeits to the Panthers.

ä Mercer hosted Jamestown in a boys’/girls’ meet. Jamestown boys and Mercer girls won by 15-50 forfeits. Mercer’s Jaime Burdette (23:01) and Jamestown’s Christian McElhaney (18:49) were the top finishers.

ä Reynolds hosted Wilmington girls at Temple Grove, Transfer, but the Lady Raiders forfeited, 15-50. Kate Robb recorded a 22:50.5 clocking for Wilmington.

ä Sharpsville boys hosted Lakeview, but forfeited 15-50. Sharpsville’s Brad Calleja clocked in at 17:58 to win the exhibition.
