Billy Colbert fired a 70 on Wednesday in leading Hickory to victory in the Region 2 Mega-Match at Shenango Lake Golf Course in Transfer.
Hickory had a team score of 329, West Middlesex fired a 352, Sharon carded a 370, Sharpsville 380 and Wilmington a 397.
Ryan Dogan (87) led the way for WM, Carl Carpenter (90) paced Sharon, Johnny Wolfe (90) was Sharpsville’s top linkster and Nate Anthony (87) led the Hounds.

Region 3 Mega-Match
Grove City finished 4th with 343 points Tuesday at Blueberry Hill Golf Course in Warren, Pa. Meadville won with 322, followed by Warren (323), Slippery Rock (330), Grove City and Oil City (365).
Warren’s Nathan Sandberg fired a 74 to earn medalist honors. Matt Gordon carded a 75 to lead GC and Slippery Rock was paced by Matt Badger and Mitchell May, who shot 81s.

GC faces Neshannock in a dual-match Monday at Castle Hills Golf Club in New Castle and then competes in the next Region 3 Mega-Match on Tuesday at Wanango Golf Course in Oil City.
Region 1 Mega-Match
Hickory made it 4-for-4 on Wednesday as it captured the Region 1 Mega-Match at Deer Creek Golf Course. Hickory shot a 188, Reynolds fired a 197, West Middlesex had a 201 and only 3 girls from Rocky Grove competed.
Abby Hearns led the way for the Lady Hornets with a 43. Reynolds’ Izzy Schell and Taylor Yahner both shot 46s and Becca Fithian carded a 44 for WM.
A pair of Grove City golfers competed as independents. Fontaine McFeaters fired the low score of the day with a 39 and Meg Birmingham shot a 44.

ä Sharon 5, Neshannock 0 — At Tiger Stadium in Sharon, Joey Zajac tallied a pair of goals as the Tigers blanked the Lancers in their season-opener.
Dylan Cerroni, Joey Rahn and Aaron Martwinski had the other goals for Sharon. Andy Rauch made 6 saves in goal for the shutout.
ä Kennedy Catholic 9, Oil City 3 — On Tuesday at Butala Stadium, Hermitage, the host Lady Golden Eagles eased to the season-opening win for new coach Tina Scoccia.
Frosh McKayla Fusco fashioned 4 goals and Evita Scoccia scored a hat trick. Also, Alivia O’Brien added a goal; Katie Trenga a goal and assist; Hallie Niemi, Tessa Bonomo added assists, and Shelby McElhinny and Angelica Scoccia both had a pair of helpers.
Defensively, Scoccia (5), McElhinny (2) and O’Brien and Gracie Izenas (3 apiece) were credited with steals, aiding Golden Eagles’ goalkeeper Elizabeth Volkay.
