JoAnn O’Malley and Dan Gorsich were united in marriage on May 3, 2008 at the Buhl Mansion in Sharon. Pastor Dominic Verdell officiated the ceremony.

The bride and groom planned their ceremony to be a celebration beginning with a weekend gathering of family and friends at the mansion. Guests, many meeting for the first time, enjoyed a wonderful meal Friday evening served provided by DiLorenzo’s, Sharpsville. Saturday afternoon, after hors d’oeuvres were served, JoAnn arrived in an ivory silk floor-length dress designed by Angela Stone, London.

The bride’s children, Patrick and Megan O’Malley, gave JoAnn away under the mansion’s stained glass windows.

Violinist Amy Klein, groom’s friend, played several arrangements.

At the reception, John Vinzant of Sharon, entertained the guests with his guitar while covering classics from the ’70s and ’80s throughout the evening. Celebrating the heritage of the families as well as the bride and groom’s favorite foods, tables in the carriage house offered Italian, Croatian, Mexican and American foods.

Guests gathered for Sunday brunch and the release of butterflies to celebrate the family’s new life together at their home at 980 Forest Lane in Sharpsville.

The bride is a daughter of Thelma Davidson, Sharpsville, and the late John L. Davidson.

The groom is a son of Matt and Joyce Gorsich, New Cumberland, W.Va.

Mrs. Gorsich graduated from Sharon High School; Slippery Rock University with a bachelor’s degree in education and Gannon University with a master’s in education. She is a learning support teacher at Hickory High School, Hermitage.

Her husband graduated from Oak Glen High School, New Cumberland. He obtained his bachelor’s in mathematics and a master’s in business administration from Wheeling Jesuit University in Wheeling, WV.  He owns DanG Technology, an IT consulting firm in Sharpsville.

They will honeymoon this summer at Sanibel Island, Fla.
