A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday for Albert Tremmel, 1124 Webster St., Farrell. He passed away peacefully at 1 a.m. Sunday (7-23-06) at his son’s residence after an extended illness. He was 63.
Mr. Tremmel was born Friday, April 16, 1943, in Krndija, Yugoslavia, the son of John and Maria Koch Tremmel.
He was a member of Farrell High School’s graduating class of 1959 and he later attended the Shenango Valley School of Business.
For the past six years he had been employed as a utility man at Duferco Farrell Corp. He previously worked for 28 years at the former Sharon Steel Corp.’s Farrell plant. In his earlier years, he worked for the former Greenville Steel Car Co.
An outdoorsman, he loved to fish and hunt and belonged to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and he was a life member of the North American Hunting Club.
Albert was a member and past president of the Shenango Valley Ski Club.
He attended St. Anthony’s Church, Sharon.
He enjoyed running, golfing, skiing, boating, woodcarving and playing soccer and was a former member of Cleveland’s semi-pro soccer Banata Club.
He leaves his son, Edward A. Tremmel and his wife Cheryl L., Greenville; a daughter, Patricia A. Weiser and her husband Albert R., Farrell; three sisters, Elizabeth Rehlinger and her husband Frank, Canfield, Ohio; Katherine Peters, Sagamore Hills, Ohio; and Anna Marie Klanac and her husband Michael, Orchard Park, N.Y.; two brothers, Karl Tremmel, Farrell; and Pete Tremmel and his wife Ann, Richfield, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Veronica Tremmel, Sharon; and five grandchildren, Kali Marie Tremmel, Jordan Elizabeth Weiser, Alaina Marie Tremmel, Olivia Jean Tremmel and Colton Albert Weiser.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Paul; and two infant brothers, Adolf and Jacob Tremmel.
Memorial contributions may be made to Family Hospice and Palliative Care, Colonial Square, 1965 Shenango Valley Freeway, Suite 2, Hermitage 16148; or to the American Cancer Society, 1965 Shenango Valley Freeway, Suite 1, Hermitage 16148.
