2 from Greenville named Thiel Students of Month

GREENVILLE – Thiel College’s November Students of the Month were Samantha Walker ’21, and Jamin Wentling ’22, both of Greenville.

The honor, given to seniors, is among the most prestigious student awards at Thiel, with only six students each semester earning the honor.

Walker is double majoring in English and history. She is the editor-in-chief of The Thielensian, the college newspaper. She is a member of Sigma Tau Delta, the English honorary society, and Phi Alpha Theta.

Walker is a 2016 graduate of Reynolds Junior-Senior High School. Following her graduation, she plans to find a job with a focus on historical preservation. She is the daughter of Kelly Foulk of Greenville and Robert Pettis of Jamestown.

Wentling is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in neuroscience and a minor in biochemistry. He serves as the president of the Thiel Rotaract Club, as captain of the Thiel baseball team, and is a student assistant for the Sports Information Department. He is also a member of the Dietrich Honors Institute, the Thiel Bible Study, and is a recipient of the David E. Baughman scholarship.

Wentling is a 2018 graduate of Greenville High School. He plans to enroll in the Master of Science in speech-language pathology program at Thiel. He is the son of Michelle Wentling of Jamestown and the late Joel Wentling.
