SHARON – In support of the fight against COVID-19, The Primary Health Network and The Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce have teamed to provide an hour-long virtual town hall at noon on Monday that will offer useful information about COVID-19 and the seasonal flu, as well as support and guidance amidst the pandemic.

The growing number of cases of coronavirus in the Pennsylvania, including roughly 1,800 in Mercer County, has placed a tremendous strain on the county’s hospitals and first responders.

“This meeting will provide essential education on COVID-19 that will enable our fellow community members to make informed decisions and take actions that support and benefit our entire community,” said Dr. George Garrow, Primary Health Network’s chief medical officer, who has led the fight against COVID-19 in the Shenango Valley. “The COVID-19 pandemic continues to produce uncertainty, stress and trauma. However, with knowledge comes power.”

This event is free and open to the public. All participants will also receive a PPE bag with a $10 gift certificate to Hangry’s Restaurant in Sharon – compliments of the Meszaros Family Charitable Fund through the chamber’s #TeamShenangoValley initiative, which helps support local restaurants. Bags can be picked up at the chamber office, 41 Chestnut St., Sharon from 9 to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

“The purpose of this meeting is to provide guidance for protecting yourself, colleagues and family as COVID collides with cold and flu season,” said Sherris Moreira, executive director of the Shenango Valley Chamber. “Having the discussion led by Dr. Garrow, a true leader in the Shenango Valley when it comes to dealing with the pandemic, will ensure those in attendance get the most current expert advice. We invite the Shenango Valley community to attend this virtual informational event.”

Guests who sign up for this virtual event can also email questions upon registration that Garrow will address during the town hall.
