Sharpsville Church to present drama Christmas Eve

South Pymatuning Community Church will offer a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 6 p.m. today.

The service will feature a dramatic interpretation, “A Christian Christmas Carol” based on the characters of the well-known version of “A Christmas Carol.” The drama will highlight the events of this special night from a Christian perspective.

Under the direction of Drama Director Ron Fisher, the presentation will include congregational caroling and a candlelight service allowing all those worshipping together to remember the significance of Christmas as we celebrate the birth of Jesus, God’s son. All are welcome.

On Sunday, the church will have its regular worship service at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Barry McLaughlin, Jr., sharing the Christmas message.

Johnson is guest clergy Sunday at Second Baptist

Oak Grove Church in Mercer will offer a traditional Christmas Eve candlelight service at 7 p.m. today in the church, 16 Oak Grove Road, Mercer.

Greenville churches join to host Christmas Eve service

SUGAR GROVE TWP. — Old Salem United Methodist Church and Eagle’s Nest Church are offering a candlelight communion Christmas Eve service.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. today at Old Salem Church, 1031 Old Methodist Road, Sugar Grove Township.

The service will have Christmas songs and a video of Josh Groban’s performance of “O, Holy Night” and a short message, “The Spirit of Christmas.”

Unity Church plans upcoming holiday events

Unity Church at Greenfield, 1857 Mercer-West Middlesex Road, will present a traditional Christmas Eve candlelight service starting with music at 6:45 p.m. today.

An informal worship service will be offered at 11 a.m. on Dec. 26.

Christmas Eve at First Church Sharon

First Presbyterian Church of Sharon invites everyone to share in the hope and joy of the Advent and Christmas seasons.

Christmas Eve worship service at 7 p.m. today will include the conclusion of the Boar’s Head Festival and candles. Special musicians playing in the service are violinist Jay Koziorynsky and harpist Kirk Kupensky.

Orangeville Baptist sets church events

SHARPSVILLE – Orangeville Baptist Church, 7600 Orangeville Road, Sharpsville, will offer Sunday School for all ages at 10 a.m., Sunday morning worship at 11 a.m.

Wednesday evening Bible study and prayer will take a break for the holidays and resume again at 7 p.m. Jan. 5.

The church is collecting food for its pantry. Anyone in need should contact Pastor Harley Williams. The church is also collecting clothes and housewares for its spring giveaway.

Christmas gift donations served more than 40 families with gifts for children and more than 48 families with food baskets.

The Children’s Ministry presented a wonderful singing program last week.

Christmas Eve service is 7 p.m. today. All are welcome.

Our Freedom Chapel offers Sunday services

Our Freedom Chapel, a newly-formed church at 106 Mercer Ave., Sharpsville, will conduct worship services at 10:30 a.m. Sundays. Pastor is Cary Parsons.
