CONCERTS

• Butler County Symphony Orchestra will premiere its “All Baroque” concert at 7 p.m. on Saturday via Facebook, YouTube or its website.

This virtual program is being presented for free and features a chamber version of Butler County Symphony Orchestra performing works by Bach, Corelli, Handel and Pachelbel.

This performance will also be aired on Armstrong Neighborhood Channel 10 on Nov. 23, 25, 27 and 29 at 1 a.m., noon and 9 p.m.

Even in the midst of a pandemic, it is the orchestra’s mission to continue to provide music and music education safely to the Butler County community, whatever the format may be.

• Trombonist Zak Rahal will perform a virtual recital for the next YSU McDonough Museum Honors Recital Series premiering at 7 p.m. on Nov. 21 on the McDonough Museum of Art and Cliffe College YouTube channels.

Rahal will perform music by Hidas, Brahms and Bach.

• The YSU Dana Composition Studio, directed by Dr. David Morgan, will offer a concert of world premieres by student composers at 7 p.m. on Nov. 28 on the McDonough Museum of Art and Cliffe College YouTube channels. The concert, “If We Could Turn Back, An Evening of New Music by the YSU Composition Studio” is part of the Dana at McDonough Series. It features original compositions by eleven students in Dr. Morgan’s studio.

MASTERCLASS

• Youngstown State University’s Guitar Studio will host a virtual Jazz masterclass featuring Jim Campilongo and Luca Benedetti, NYC jazz guitarists and recording artists from 12:30 to 3 p.m. on Friday on the Zoom platform. STAGE

• Clarion University Theatre is using technology to stage “The Marowitz Hamlet.” The recording will be uploaded to a streaming platform and will be available for viewing Nov. 18-22.

• Highway to Heaven Angels Production will present “The Night Guilt Stole Christmas,” written, produced and directed by Jeffrey Gordon, on Dec. 19 at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 263 E. State Street, Sharon. Rev. Rick Stauffer is the host pastor. Meet and greet begins at 5 p.m. and the performance will start at 5:45 p.m. Masks and social distancing are required. Tickets are $10.
