Church schedules prayer and healing service

HERMITAGE – Central Christian Church, 218 Meadowbrook Road, Hermitage, holds a Prayer and Healing Service “And God said to Moses ‘I AM who I AM’ (Exodus 3:14a) on July 16. A light meal will be served at 5:30 p.m. followed by prayer and healing at 6:30 p.m.  

This is an ecumenical service; all are welcome.

Sandy Lake churches to hold service in the park

SANDY LAKE – The congregations of the Sandy Lake Presbyterian Church and the Methodists United in Faith churches will hold a combined church service on Sunday at G. Turner Craig Park in Sandy Lake. 

Music begins at 9:30 a.m. with the worship service starting at 11 a.m. 

Pastor Beth Creekpaum will provide the message, and Pastor Janet Pratt will provide the children’s sermon.

Music will be provided by Stoneboro Methodist Praise Band, Art Shambaugh, Barb Carothers, Lilly Katavitch, The SLIM Brothers and a combined praise and worship band from both churches during the service.

After the service, a cook-out (hot dogs and water provided) will be held, and all are invited to stay for a time of visiting and fellowship. Please bring a “dish to share.”

A lawn chair will be needed for the service.

Lecture to focus on art of St. John’s Bible

VILLA MARIA – Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center will host the sixth annual Nostra Aetate Lecture on July 25.

This lecture is entitled “Illuminating Justice with the Art of The Saint John’s Bible” presented by Jonathan Homrighausen. The program includes two special sessions beginning at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. The evening lecture will focus on Judaism and the focus of the afternoon workshop is woman and justice.

Afternoon workshop is $25 and includes program, refreshments and supper. (Add $5 if coming before the workshop for lunch).

Sharon church hosts Community Day

SHARON – Sts. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church, 699 Stambaugh Ave., Sharon, will hold Community Day from 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 3.

There will be music, games, prizes, raffle baskets, food and crafts for adults and children.

Stoneboro church holds Kids’ Day Camp

STONEBORO – Emmanuel Christian Church, 4495 Greenville-Sandy Lake Road, Stoneboro, will host a free Kids’ Day Camp for children age 4 years (by June 1) through sixth grade.

The theme is “The Incredible Race (One Family, One Race, One Savior).” There will be singing, crafts, games, and more from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 22 through 26.

Lunch will be provided.

Transportation is available to and from the Stoneboro and Jackson Center fire halls and Lakeview, Greenville and Commodore Perry High Schools. Kids riding the bus must pre-register by July 20.

Church to hold baptism, picnic at lake Sunday

Eastgate Christian Church will present its annual lake baptism and picnic Sunday. The event will be at 10:30 a.m. at Chestnut Run Swim Beach at the Shenango River Lake, 5500 Saranac Drive, South Pymatuning Township.

Family Fun weekend set at WM church

WEST MIDDLESEX – Presbyterian Church of West Middlesex, 3082 Main St., will hold Family Fun Weekend July 20.

Worship in the park (three miles south of West Middlesex on Route 18) at 10 a.m. Community carnival will be 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
