Picnic, car cruise on tap Sunday at 1st Assembly

HERMITAGE – Following thei10 a.m. service on Sunday, First Assembly of God is holding an All Church Picnic/Car Cruise for a chance to hang out, have some fun, connect with others and welcome their new pastor, Pastor Chris, and his family.

Sunday school, Bible study at Orangeville Baptist

SHARPSVILLE – Orangeville Baptist Church is hosting Sunday school for all ages at 10 a.m. and morning worship at 11 a.m. on Sundays at the church at 7600 Orangeville Road, Sharpsville. They also have evening Bible study and prayer at 7 p.m on Wednesdays.

Former New Light paster to preach at 2nd Baptist

SHARPSVILLE – Rev. Brian Johnson, former Pastor of New Light Missionary Baptist, Sharon, will bring the Word at Second Baptist Church, Walnut and High Streets in Sharpsville on Sunday at the 11:15 am worship service. Reverend James McKeithan is host pastor.

Sunday morning teaching hour resumes

SHARPSVILLE – The Sunday morning teaching hour (9:30 a.m.) has resumed at South Pymatuning Community Church, 3400 Tamarack Drive, Sharpsville. A class for teenagers/ adults and a class for children (through grade five) is offered. The teen/adult class study is covering the Book of Hebrews, led by Pastor Barry McLaughlin Jr., and the children’s class uses the Answers in Genesis material and is taught by Melanie Preston and Stacy Beach. All safety guidelines and protocols are followed and the classes are open to the public.

The teaching hour is followed by the 10:30 a.m. worship service weekly with inspirational praise and worship songs and Senior Pastor David Searle sharing the Word of God.

Bible studies for ladies and men offered

SHARPSVILLE – Both ladies’ and men’s bible studies are offered every other week at South Pymatuning Community Church, 3400 Tamarack Drive, Sharpsville. These two group studies meet Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.

The ladies’ study uses the “Woman of Honor” study from Proverbs 31 ministries and the men’s study group discusses important Biblical topics pertinent to being “Men of Knowledge” in God’s Word. The study groups are open to the public.

New Mass times for St. Michael’s in Greenville

GREENVILLE – St. Michael Parish Greenville has changed its Mass times. Mass will be celebrated at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday at St. Michael Church in Greenville and at 9 a.m. Sunday at St. Margaret Mission, Jamestown.

Sharon 1st Presbyterian resumes worship

SHARON – First Presbyterian Church, 600 E. State St., Sharon, has reopened for worship at 10 a.m. on Sundays.

Health care precautions will be practiced, including required masks (except for medical reasons); social distancing; entry through the glass doors and exit through the wooden doors (except if elevator is needed); staying home if feeling ill; covering mouth/nose if coughing/sneezing; no congregational singing.

Worship service will be in the sanctuary to maintain distancing. It could be warm, so everyone is encouraged to wear cool, comfortable clothing. Cold bottles of water will be provided.

Children will sit with their families and receive a Bible story activity packet.

The worship service will also be video recorded. There is the choice of attending in-person worship or watching the video recorded service on Facebook or the You-Tube channel. Villa Maria center remains closed through Labor Day

Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center will remain closed for all groups until after Labor Day. Their projected date for reopening for groups is Sept. 8.

Personal retreatants who wish to come to Villa Maria can be served. This will be for a small number at any one time and there will be limitations on what services are available. The center will be following all protocols necessary to ensure the safety of all personal retreat guests.
