Backpack blessing will be part of Sunday service
HERMITAGE – Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 3325 Morefield Road, Hermitage, will be blessing backpacks, school supplies and the children at the 9:30 a.m. worship service on Aug. 18.
Fellowship luncheon planned at Farrell church
FARRELL – The Second Missionary Baptist Church, 1138 Spearman Ave., Farrell, Mission’s Ministry is blessed and excited to host “Sisters on a Mission Fellowship Luncheon” at 11 a.m. Aug. 17 in the church fellowship hall.
There will be door prizes, a silent auction, musical selections by Praise Dancers and a fabulous fashion show.
West Middlesex UMC holds annual flea market
WEST MIDDLESEX – West Middlesex United Methodist Church, 3123 Main St. holds its annual flea market from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 15-16 and 9 to 11 a.m. Aug. 17.
National pastor from Kenya to speak
SHARPSVILLE – Rev. Wilson Maungo of Independent Gospel Missions, a national pastor from Kenya, will present his mission outreach at the 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services at South Pymatuning Community Church, 3400 Tamarack Drive, on Sunday.
Rev. Maungo is currently responsible for the oversight of more than 120 small churches throughout the regions of Kenya and Uganda as well as operating a church-sponsored orphanage and Bible institute for the training of other national pastors.
South Pymatuning Community Church has supported and sponsored Rev. Maungo for more than a decade through its missions outreach ministry and has provided funding for the building of a church and other projects through various fundraising campaigns.
The public is invited and encouraged to attend these services to see what God is doing in other regions of the world and to consider possibly joining in the support of this mission ministry.

Dinner at St. George’s Serbian Orthodox Church
HERMITAGE – St. George’s Serbian Orthodox Church, 65 S. Keel Ridge Road, Hermitage, will hold its Serbian beef goulash dinner from noon to 3 p.m. Aug. 18.
The menu includes goulash – a traditional eastern European dish of beef, carrots, potatoes in a sauce and served on noodles – a garden salad, dessert and coffee.
Cost is $10, and service is available for dine-in or takeout.
Orangeville Baptist Church service times
SHARPSVILLE — Service times for Orangeville Baptist Church, 7600 Orangeville Road, Sharpsville, are 10 a.m for Sunday school, followed by worship at 11 a.m. There is a 7 p.m. Wednesday prayer and Bible study.
The church is always collecting food for the church pantry which serves people in need.
