Sharon church hosts Community Day

SHARON –  Sts. Peter & Paul Lutheran Church, 699 Stambaugh Ave., Sharon, will hold Community Day from 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 3.

There will be music, games, prizes, raffle baskets, food and crafts for adults and children. 

Stoneboro church holds Kids’ Day Camp

STONEBORO – Emmanuel Christian Church, 4495 Greenville-Sandy Lake Road, Stoneboro, will be hosting a free Kids’ Day Camp for children age 4 years (by June 1) through sixth grade.

The theme is “The Incredible Race (One Family, One Race, One Savior).” There will be singing, crafts, games, and more from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 22 through 26. Lunch will be provided.

Bus transportation is available to and from the Stoneboro and Jackson Center fire halls and Lakeview, Greenville and Commodore Perry High Schools. Kids riding the bus must pre-register by July 20.

Church to hold baptism, picnic at lake July 14

Eastgate Christian Church will present its third-annual lake baptism and picnic July 14.

The event will be at 10:30 a.m. at Chestnut Run Swim Beach at the Shenango River Lake, 5500 Saranac Drive, South Pymatuning Township.

Family Fun weekend set at WM church

WEST MIDDLESEX – Presbyterian Church of West Middlesex, 3082 Main St., will hold Family Fun Weekend July 20. Worship in the park (3 miles south of WM light on Route 18) at 10 a.m. A Community carnival will be 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Retreat scheduledat Villa Maria center

VILLA MARIA – Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center (VMESC), Evergreen Road, Villa Maria, will offer a special retreat with Cheryl Rose, HM entitled: “A Sip From the Well: a 24-Hour Empty Bowl Experience.” This special retreat will take place from 6 p.m. July 26 to 6 p.m. July 27.

This lightly guided retreat will be an immersion into the restoring waters of silence and solitude. Brief but intense, this contemplative experience does not require attendance at other Empty Bowl retreats.

Cheryl Rose, HM has an undergraduate degree in science and math and a Masters in Religious Studies from John Carroll University. She taught Physics, Chemistry, and Theology for 26 years on the secondary level. She is presently engaged in full-time ministry offering retreats, programs, Enneagram workshops, and spiritual direction for adults and young adults.

Cost is $125 and includes retreat, lodging, and meals from light supper on July 26 to supper on July 27.

Commuter cost is $95.
