Sharon church welcomes guest speaker
SHARON – Pastor Diane Lampley of Jesus is Lord Ministries, Farrell, will be the guest speaker at the 11:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday at Temple of Praise Cathedral Church of God in Christ, 170 N. Sharpsville Ave., Sharon.
At 4 p.m. Bishop William O.S. Stallworth of Gateway Fellowship Ministries, Berea will be the guest speaker. He will be accompanied by his choirs and congregation.
Pentecost Sunday will be celebrated at both services. The theme for the day is “A Holy Ghost Encounter.” Bishop Melvin T. Baker is the host pastor.
Valley Baptist holds Youth Day for graduates
FARRELL – Valley Baptist Church, 500 Sharon-New Castle Road, Farrell, will observe Youth Day honoring the graduates at the 11 a.m. worship service on Sunday.
Pastor Leon M. Harrison, Sr. from the Empowerment Church, West Mifflin, Pa., will be the guest clergy and bless us with the Word.
The theme is “I Can Do All Things” with scriptural text from Phillipians 4:13. The worship leader will be Joslyn Sims.
High school graduates are Madison J. Gavin, Jayden M. Whitman and Kobe B. Hilton. The college graduates are Dominique D. McKoy (Clark Atlanta University) and Autumn Jarvie (Butler Community College).

Congregation celebrates pastoral anniversary
SHARON – Cedar Avenue Church of God, 1045 Cedar Ave., Sharon, announces services for Rev. Charles W. Johnson Jr.’s 15th Pastoral Anniversary.
A pre-anniversary service will be at 7 p.m. June 20 with Supt. Tyrone Steals as the guest preacher; Bishop Alvin McCoy as guest preacher at 7 p.m. June 21, and June 23 will be Rev. Vaughn Bell as guest preacher at 11 a.m. and Bishop Timothy J. Clarke, guest preacher at 5 p.m.
Sharon church offers summer lunches
SHARON – New Light Missionary Baptist Church, 753 Cedar Ave., Sharon, serves free hot nutritious meals to children during the summer from noon to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday beginning June 10.
There is no income requirement or registration. Any child younger than age 18 may come to eat.

Church conference set for Farrell
FARRELL – The Eastern Ohio Baptist District Association (EOBDA) Annual Conference will be held June 10-13 at Valley Baptist Church, 500 Sharon-New Castle Ave., Farrell. The theme is “Make Me Over” from Psalm 51:10.
Worship services are June 10-12 nightly at 7 p.m. The worship leader will be Pastor Ernest Ellis of Antioch Baptist Church, Youngstown, and the conference preacher will be Pastor Edward Cryer of Unity Baptist Church, Cleveland, Ohio. The June 13 service will be the Youth Explosion at 7 p.m.
Dr. Avan Odom of Friendship Baptist Church, Warren, Ohio, will teach the men’s workshop titled “Kingdom Men” and Evangelist Phyllis Bolling of Second Baptist Church, Farrell, will teach the women’s workshop titled “Kingdom Women.”
Young adult workshops for young adults, ages 19-35, with Pastor James Bowie of Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Youngstown; Teens (ages 13-18) with Jalesa Thomas; Pre-teens (ages 7-12) with Angela Betts and kindergarten (ages 4-6) with Katrina Foster. The session times range from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Convocation will be 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. The youth will be served lunch.

Teen mission trip pasta dinner set
HUBBARD – Corner House Christian Church, 6954 Chestnut Ridge Road, Hubbard, holds a teen mission trip pasta dinner and Chinese auction from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday in the fellowship hall.
Dinner includes pasta, meatballs, salad, rolls, dessert and beverages.
Cost is $5 for ages 11 and older; $3 for children ages 4 to 10 and children ages 3 and younger, are free.
Proceeds benefit Mission Journey’s Appalachia Kentucky Mission Trip.
The church will also be having its famous OVERNIGHTER for children in kindergarten to fifth grade beginning at 6 p.m. June 14 until 10:30 a.m. June 15 at the church. The theme for the event is “Racing Towards the Goal”. It’s a free event, bring your sleeping bag or blanket and pillow, toothbrush and stuffed animal. There will be dinner, exciting games, activities and lessons, a surprise guest and breakfast.
House of Prayer to mark pastoral anniversary
FARRELL – Greater Pentecostal House of Prayer, 725 Fruit Ave., Farrell, will celebrate Pastor Sandra M. Green’s second pastoral anniversary at 10 a.m. June 9.
Guest speaker will be Pastor V. Dion Gilbert of Hampton, Ga.
Trinity Presbyterian Church slates music series
MERCER – Trinity Presbyterian Church, 110 E. Market St., holds its Summer Music Series during the 11 a.m. service.
During June special music will be presented by: the adult choir on Sunday; pianist Ian Ollila and the Trinity Hand Bell Choir on June 16; the Vacation Bible School children on June 23; and vocalist Pamela Courtney on June 30.
Others in the summer music series are: pianist Carol Mixer, July 7; vocalist Karla Snyder, July 14; instrumentalists Glenn Buchanan, July 21 and Michael Peterson, July 28; and vocalists Ellen Campbell, Aug. 4; Hugh Ringer, Aug. 11, and Vicky Long, Aug. 18. The series concludes with the Trinity Recorder Trio on Aug. 25.
Guest pianists and organists playing for summer services are: Ellen Campbell, Sunday; Carol Mixer, July 7, and Dana Eade, Aug. 25.
An adult Sunday school class is offered at 9 a.m., while children’s classes are on break until fall. Worship is at 10 a.m.

Day camp registrations being accepted
VILLA MARIA – Registrations are now being accepted for two summer day camps for children and youth at Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center.
Children entering grades
K-5 are invited to choose Thursday or Friday sessions for GROW Camp which is a once-aweek gardening and outdoor activities camp from June 13 or 14 to Aug. 8 or 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Activities will include planting and tending a garden, swimming and nature activities and experiences.
Youth entering grades 6 through 9 are invited to come together and make a positive difference in their world at REACH Camp held Wednesdays from June 12 to Aug.
7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Youth will engage in simple, yet meaningful onsite service opportunities, along with playing games, swimming, and expressing themselves through various art forms.
Lunch and snacks will be provided during both camps.

Services scheduled at Orangeville Baptist
SHARPSVILLE – Services for Orangeville Baptist Church, 7600 Orangeville Road, Sharpsville, are Sunday school for all ages at 10 a.m., followed by worship at 11 a.m.
There is a Wednesday evening prayer and Bible study at 7 p.m.
The church is always collecting food for the food pantry: breakfast items, cereals, oatmeal, etc., and personal care items such as soap, deodorants, laundry soaps, toothbrushes, toothpaste, paper towels, toilet tissue, etc.
