SLIPPERY ROCK – Join Jennings Environmental Education Center staff for a new series of programs designed for active Senior Citizens.
The first in this series will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday. Investigate two distinct ecosystems at Jennings, the forest and the prairie. Examine soils, plants, and animals in each area to discover the uniqueness and similarities between the two.
Registration is required for this free program. Register online at https://state.us7.list-manage.com/track/click or by calling the Center at 724-794-6011 no later than Monday.
The Silver Sciences Series is designed for active seniors who enjoy outdoor activities and wish to expand their science and nature knowledge. Activities will be adapted to lessen the need to stoop and bend but will require the ability to walk over uneven surfaces for distances of up to half mile at a time. All equipment will be provided.
Jennings is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and on weekends as scheduled. The trails are open daily from sunrise to sunset for hiking and other environmentally related activities.
