TRANSFER – Reynolds VFW Post 7599, 115 Edgewood Drive, Greenville, celebrates its 56th anniversary with a special ceremony and cake cutting at 6 p.m. May 19.
The post was founded on May 19, 1963. The Reynolds VFW mission primarily consists of helping veterans, but it also strives in supporting the community and many activities within the Mercer County region. Examples of the activities are recognizing and assisting local vets, helping people in distress, scholarships, youth programs, education, athletic teams and so much more.
Since 1963, it is estimated the Reynolds VFW has donated more than $3.5 million to veterans and the local community. In recent years the Reynolds VFW donates more than $100,000 a year in support of its mission. The volunteer force averages more than 6,000 hours a year.
