SHARON – Laurel Technical Institute is proud to announce the winners of the 2019 John D. Mihm Half-Tuition Scholarship: Tyler Martin, from Cochranton High School, Braelea Swift, from 21st Century Charter School.
Tyler is starting in LTI’s Electrical Technician Program and Braelea is starting LTI’s Respiratory Therapy Program; both in fall.
Tyler is from Cochranton, and is eager to begin his studies in the Electrical Technician program. After watching and assisting his parents in the remodeling of their home, Tyler knew he wanted to seek employment in the electrical field. From his experience, he learned the value of hard work and efficiency. Tyler spends his spare time rifle and bow hunting.
Braelea is 18 years old and a resident of West Middlesex. She is an active member of New Life Baptist Church. Braelea said what led her to want to pursue a career as a respiratory therapist was her desire to help people and to change people’s lives. Braelea’s dream job is to work in a pediatric hospital.
