FUNDRAISERS

• Stoneboro Presbyterian Church will make doughnuts on Thursday This will be the last time for summe; sales will resume in September.

Pick up at the church from 7:30 until 10:30 a.m. Doughnuts are available in vanilla, chocolate, and maple iced, cinnamon and powdered sugar, mixed or combinations.

VOLUNTEERING

• The Grove City Education Center for Adults will hold an open training for new volunteer literacy tutors on two consecutive Fridays, June 25 and July 2. The training will be at GCECA’s offices in Grove City, 118 S. Center St., from 9 a.m to noon each day. Participants can also attend online via Zoom.

Anyone wishing to help students studying for the GED in Grove City, Sharon or Greenville is encouraged to attend. There is no cost and all materials will be provided.

RIBBON CUTTINGS

• The Prince of Peace Center and the Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon cutting to mark the grand opening of the center’s new Providence Clothing Store and Boutique and expanded Furniture and Appliance Thrift Outlet.

The grand opening will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday the center, 502 Darr Ave., Farrell. The clothing store and boutique is in the center’s basement, and the furniture and appliance outlet is on the main floor.

Refreshments will be served at the grand opening. Regular store hours will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Credit cards will be accepted for the first time.

AT THE SENIOR CENTER

• The Greenville Senior Center is open with a modified schedule. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the June schedule will not include card games, clubs, cornhole, entertainment, guest speakers or pickleball. Masks must still be worn.

Meals are take-out only. Attendees are asked to reserve them two days in advance. Pick-up is at 11:30 a.m. each day. The suggested meal donation is $2.50 unless otherwise specified. No one will be denied a meal because of inability to pay.

June cold lunch option: Egg salad sandwich replaces the protein, side dishes still included. Attendees are asked to notify the staff when reserving lunch if they would like the cold lunch option.

Chef salad option: Diced chicken and cheese, hard-boiled egg, lettuce, tomato wedge, pickled beets, dinner roll, fruit.

Lunch: Baked meatloaf with gravy, mashed potatoes, cream corn, wheat bread, raspberry sherbet (you must place your order by today if you’d like the Father’s Day meal on June 18)
