• The Buhl Farm Garden Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 2 at the Activities Building in Buhl Farm park, Hermitage. Topic of discussion will be fall decorating.

A meeting at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 2 in the Activities Building will feature speaker Tom Kavanagh of Cottage Gardens, will discuss decorating for the holiday season.

Fundraisers



• Vincent Methodist Church, Jackson Center, sponsors the following events at the church, unless otherwise noted:

– Creamed chicken and biscuit dinner begins at noon Oct. 8. Menu includes potatoes, vegetable, coleslaw, apple sauce, dessert and beverage. Cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children age 10 and younger. Reservations: 724-662-4968.

– Roast beef dinner and commedy show at 6 p.m. Oct. 21 at the Jackson Center Volunteer Fire Department. Entertainment is actor/storywriter Tim Hartman from Pittsburgh. Full roast beef dinner provided by Church women. Cost is $15 for adults; $10 for children 3- to -12-years-old; and children younger than age 3 are free. • Strayhaven Animal Shelter is holding a Sundae Party on Sunday Oct. 1. Ice cream sundaes with choice of toppings will be served from 1 to 4 p.m. in Greenville’s Central Park. • Coolspring Presbyterian Church, 777 Coolspring Church Road, Mercer, hosts a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 14 in the Family Life Center.

• The Altar and Rosary Society of St. Adabert Church holds a card and bingo party beginning at 2 p.m. Oct. 1 in the church hall, 1035 Fruit Ave., Farrell.
