HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported 962 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday, bringing the state total up to 5,805 in 60 counties. 

The DOH also reported 11 new deaths, for a total of 74 coronavirus-related deaths statewide.

Mercer County is still reporting eight virus cases, with no deaths to date. 

The age breakdown for patients who have tested positive is as follows:

• Nearly 1% are aged 0-4;

• Nearly 1% are aged 5-12;

• 1% are aged 13-18;

• Nearly 9% are aged 19-24;

• 40% are aged 25-49;

• Nearly 29% are aged 50-64; and

• 19% are aged 65 or older.

According to the DOH, 620 patients have been hospitalized due to coronavirus since March 6. The age breakdown is as follows:

• 0-4: ​< 1%

​• 5-12: 0%

​• 13-18: ​< 1%

​• 19-24: 1%

​• 25-49: ​20%

​• 50-64: ​27%

​• 65+: ​51%
