Dorothy C. Peterson, 3220 N. Hermitage Road, Pymatuning Township, passed away at 8:09 a.m. Saturday (7-22-06) in the Hospitality Care Center, Hermitage, where she was a resident for three years. She was 88.
Mrs. Peterson was born July 14, 1917, in Sharon, a daughter of the late Carmie Chester and Anna Catherine Rodenbaugh Weaver.
She was a lifelong area resident and a 1937 alumna of Sharon High School.
Mrs. Peterson retired in 1979 from UPMC Horizon, Farrell, where she was employed for five years. She previously worked at the former Isaly’s, Hermitage; and for many years at the former Antos Food Center in Transfer.
A homemaker, she was a former member of First United Methodist Church, Sharon.
Surviving are: a daughter, Betty Lou “Becky” Baker, wife of Larry Baker, Transfer; four grandchildren, Donald Sweitzer, Hermitage; Jamie Sweitzer, Fort Myers, Fla.; Thomas Faber, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and Douglas Faber, Greenville; and four great-grandchildren, Michael Sweitzer, Lauren Faber, Kaitlyn Faber and Declan Sweitzer.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Lee Peterson; four brothers, Glenn Weaver, Vern Weaver, Paul Weaver and Donald Weaver; and one sister, Flossie Davies.
