ARLINGTON, Va. — Edward J. McGrath of McLean, Va., died at 7:50 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2006, in Capital Hospice. He was 80.

Mr. McGrath was born Nov. 4, 1925, in Hartford, Conn., a son of the late William J. and Delia M. Devereaux McGrath, both of Wethersfield, Conn.

He was a graduate of the Class of 1950 at Georgetown University and retired as an operations security officer from the Central Intelligence Agency, both Washington D.C.

A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. McGrath served during World War II.

He was a member for 50 years of St. John the Beloved Catholic Church, McLean.

Mr. McGrath was husband of the late M. Helene Griffin McGrath, formerly of Sharon; father of Kathleen M., wife of Jeffrey Kamm, Rosemount, Minn.; Kevin W. McGrath, McLean; Patricia A., wife of Jeffery Morgan, Twinsburg, Ohio; Brian E. McGrath, husband of Deanne, Westminster, Md.; and brother of the Rev. William E. McGrath, East Hartford, Conn.; Noreen M. Granato, Wethersfield; and the late John S. McGrath, Wethersfield.

Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, a great-grandson and a great-granddaughter. Mr. McGrath also leaves many friends in the Shenango Valley.

Service: Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. today (6-1-06) in St. John the Beloved Catholic Church, 6420 Linway Terrace, McLean.

Inurnment: The Columbarium of Arlington (Va.) National Cemetery.
