Eileen L. Best Culp, 110 Fredonia Road, Hempfield Township, died at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, June 25, 2006, in UPMC Horizon, Greenville. She was 81.

Mrs. Culp was born April 25, 1925, in Greenville to Oliver and Rose Youngblood Best.

She retired after 10 years as a caseworker for Pennsylvania Department of Welfare, Greenville and Meadville. She was also employed for 15 years as a manager for Triangle Shoes, Greenville.

Mrs. Culp attended First Methodist Church, Greenville, and was a volunteer for six years at the Good Shepherd Center, Greenville.

She enjoyed sewing and yard sales.

Her husband, John L. Culp, whom she married in September 1986, died May 1988.

Surviving are: three sons, Alan R., husband of Elizabeth Knauf, North Bloomfield, Ohio; Eric D., husband of Roberta Knauf, Clark; and Joel Brown, Greenville; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Culp was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Wetzel; a brother, Charles Lyons; and a grandson, Richard D. Knauf.
