Emily Zipay, formerly of Cedar Avenue, Sharon, passed away at 7:40 a.m. Friday, April 21, 2006, in Hospitality Care Center, Hermitage, of natural causes. She was 86.

Miss Zipay was born Aug. 2, 1919, in Hickory Township to Nicholas and Anna Majdan Zipay.

An alumna of Sharon High School, she was an assembler for 35 years at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp.

Emily was a lifetime member of Sts. Peter and Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sharon.

She was an avid outdoor person and belonged to Sokol USA in Farrell.

Surviving are: a sister, Matilda Z. Weisenborn, Sharon; a brother, the Rev. Nicholas Zipay, Elyria, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Emily was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, John, George, Theodore, Michael and Edward Zipay; and two sisters, Anna Holobiak and Alice M. White.

Service: Funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Monday (4-24-06) in the funeral home with the Rev. Jeff Harter, pastor of Sts. Peter and Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sharon, officiating.

Interment: Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage.
