Ethel M. Lewis, Assumption Village, North Lima, Ohio, formerly of 490 Baldwin Ave., Sharon, died at 12:15 p.m. Saturday (6-24-06) in the village following a recent stroke. She was 100.

Mrs. Lewis was born May 21, 1906, in Farrell a daughter of the late Thomas Charles and Anna Gertrude Morgan Morgan.

She was a graduate of Sharon High School and the former Edinboro State Normal School as a teacher.

Mrs. Lewis taught elementary grades at the former Prospect Heights Elementary and Jefferson Avenue Elementary schools.

She was a member of Central Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Hermitage; and a life member of Gymanfu Ganu Society of Niles, Ohio; and St. David’s Society of Youngstown. Mrs. Lewis also was a member of Pennsylvania Association of Secondary Retirees.

Her husband, Iorwerth E. “Ed” Lewis, whom she married June 13, 1934, died Jan. 24, 1985.

Surviving are: a daughter, Valorie Lipka and husband, William, of Poland, Ohio; a son, Edward “Ted” Lewis and wife, Joan, of Enumclaw, Wash.; grandchildren, Gary Lewis, Cynthia Nelson, Jennifer Anderson and Terri Gabriel; and great-grandchildren, Jessie Lewis, Tanner Lewis, Geddes Anderson and Hayden Anderson.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Loney.
