All that remains is a smoldering black frame after a fire engulfed Flamingo Rose at 4:24 a.m. Thursday at 452 E. State St. in Sharon.

The fire was “fully involved upon arrival,” according to Chief Terry Whalen of the Sharon fire department.

The fire was under control by 5:30 or 6 a.m., Whalen said, but not before the flames destroyed the building. Minor damage was caused to the west wall of the Buhl Mansion when the intense heat radiating from the blaze broke out some windows and caused some of the woodwork to smolder.

The structure, which was vacant when firefighters arrived, is home to two businesses, Hair Apparent, Inc. and a gift and antique shop. It is owned by Jim and Donna Winner and managed by Laura Ackley.

No was injured in the fire.
