A funeral service will be held Saturday for Florzel Hyatt, 718 Lee Ave., Farrell. She passed away at 12:40 p.m. Tuesday (3-28-06) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 91.

Mrs. Hyatt was born on Oct. 23, 1914, in Marion County, Ga., to Sydney and Bertha Owens Adams.

A longtime Shenango Valley resident, she attended Farrell schools and was a graduate of the former Atwater Beauty School in Sharon.

During World War II, Mrs. Hyatt was employed by the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. and later worked as a cook at what is now Sharon Regional Health System. She retired in 1980.

She was a member for 71 years of Second Missionary Baptist Church, Farrell, where, through the years, she served on the choir, Kitchen Committee and Nurse’s Guild.

As a hobby, Mrs. Hyatt enjoyed bowling and bus tours.

Her husband, William R. Hyatt, whom she married in April of 1948, survives at home.

Also surviving are: a daughter, Faye Golden and her husband Michael, at home; three grandchildren, Yauna M. Hyatt, Michael W. Golden Jr. and Tiara C. Golden, all Farrell; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

Mrs. Hyatt was preceded in death by her parents and six sisters, Emma Ledbetter, Mary Alli, Louise Seegers, Ruth McKinley, Wilda L. Jones and Clara Mae Truman. She was the last of her siblings.
