Jack Kendall, a resident since June 1980 of 430 Summit St., Grove City, passed away at 5:45 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2006, in Trinity Living Center, Grove City. He was 71.

Mr. Kendall was born Nov. 26, 1934, in Goshen, Elkhart County, Ind., to Merle V. and Ruby K. Swihart Kendall.

He was a graduate of Bob Jones University, Greenville, S.C., and Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo.

From 1980 to the present, Mr. Kendall was employed at Grove City College, where he was an assistant professor and computer programmer.

He was an Air Force veteran.

Ordained in the Baptist church, Mr. Kendall was a pulpit supply for ministers in several churches. He was a member of Covenant Orthodox Presbyterian Church, Grove City.

He loved his music and guitar, as well as singing at nursing homes, hospitals and churches. He was recipient of the Florence McKenzie Town and Gown Award in 2002.

His wife, the former Eleanor “Ellie” Hill, omit domsurvives at home.

Besides his wife, he is survived by: three sons, Mark W. Kendall and his wife Ann, Annville, Pa.; M. Brett Kendall, Weirton, W.Va.; and Stephen J. Kendall and his wife Amy, Gibsonia; three daughters, Cara J. Corcoran, Hyannis, Mass.; Kristine E. York and her husband Steve, Ocoee, Fla.; and Lissa C. Fry and her husband Paul, North Olmstead, Ohio; three sisters, Peggy A. Herendeen, Jackson, Mich.; Sara K. Wallace and her husband Jerry, Lilburn, Ga.; and Rebecca S. Wham and her husband James, Simpsonville, S.C.; three brothers, Ralph E. Kendall and his wife Cynthia, Taylor, Mich.; Noble E. Kendall and his wife Caris, Chapin, S.C.; and David P. Noble and his wife Glenna, Mead, Colo.; and 10 grandchildren.

Mr. Kendall was preceded in death by his parents.

Interment: Prairie Cemetery, Harrisville.
