John Lazor, 3430 Mount Hickory Blvd., Hermitage, passed away at 9:25 p.m. Sunday, June 25, 2006, in UPMC Horizon, Farrell. He was 84.

Mr. Lazor was born on Saturday, Aug. 20, 1921, in Sharpsville to Andrew and Catherine Parimuha Lazor.

A Sharon High School graduate, he retired in 1983 as a warehouse foreman for Ivor J. Lee, Sharon, where he worked for 20 years. Mr. Lazor was also a union bricklayer in the Shenango Valley area.

He served in the Air Force as a sergeant.

Mr. Lazor was a member of St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Hermitage.

He was an avid gardener and golfer and enjoyed helping his family and friends.

His wife, the former Ethel M. Amon, whom he married Feb. 18, 1950, survives at home.

Also surviving are: a daughter, Sandra K. Humbertson, Bel Air, Md.; a son, John A. Lazor and his wife Kathleen, Germantown, Md.; a sister, Mary Jane and her husband William Reffner, South Pymatuning Township; and two grandchildren, Christopher J. and Gregory R. Lazor.

Mr. Lazor was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Anne Moro and Helen Slovesko; and two brothers, Andy and George Lazor.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society, 1965 Shenango Valley Freeway, Suite 1; or American Heart Association, 59 N. Crescent Drive, both Hermitage 16148.

Service: Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. Friday (6-30-06) in St. Michael’s Byzantine Church, Hermitage, with the Rev. Frank Firko, pastor, officiating. A Panachida service is set for 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home.

Interment: St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Hermitage, with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6233, West Middlesex; and American Legion Post 432, Wheatland.
