PHOENIX — Lucy Kathryn Baker of Phoenix, formerly of Kimberly Road in Sharon, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Wednesday, March 8, 2006, in Beatitudes Campus of Care, Phoenix. She was 89.

Mrs. Baker was born on Feb. 13, 1917, in Warren County, a daughter of Carl and Jennie Kane Atkins.

A 1935 alumna of the former Pine Grove Township High School, Warren County, she graduated in 1936 from Fellers School of Beauty Culture.

She retired as an operator from Bell Systems.

Mrs. Baker was a member of Hickory United Methodist Church, Hermitage.

Her first husband, Herbert Hagstrom, and her second husband, Harry L. Baker, are deceased.

She is survived by: her grandchildren, Jennifer L. Green and her husband David, Baltimore; R. Scott Rea and his wife Kimberly, Phoenix; William H. Rea and his wife Kim, Palmerton, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Atkins; a brother-in-law, Johnny Baker; her nieces, Carol Egres, Sherry Irwin, Lindy Nupher and Barb Palumbo; her nephews, Jeff Atkins, Ed King, Marty Hagstrom and Bob King; six great-grandchildren, Megan, Jonathan and Mary Hannah Green; and Zachary, Amanda and Derek Rea; her stepgrandchildren, Brian and Margaret Gunsley, Laurie and Shawn Korpa, Chris and Jean Podralski, Mark and Karen Podralski, Gary Podralski, Cheryl and Eric Humphrey; and Harry Pelles; and stepgreat-great-grandchildren, Jessica and Luke Korpa; Adam and Terry Podralski, Autumn Gunsley, Jeffery Palmer, Tyler and Ashton Gunsley; and her stepchildren, Joan Podralski, Janice and Earl Gunsley; and Roxie Pelles.

Besides her first and her second husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Mary C. Rea; a son-in-law, W. Richard “Dick” Rea; two brothers, Carl and Bill Atkins; two sisters, Lucille Baker correct and Minnie King; a nephew, Harry “Junior” King; and a stepgrandson, Bert Gunsley.
