AT&T has announced the installation of nine new cell phone reception sites in western Pennsylvania, including in Mercer County.
The new sites will improve wireless service and enhance mobile broadband coverage, and help give first responders faster, more reliable wireless service, AT&T officials said.
“We want our customers to have a great experience. Thanks to these new sites, they’ll be able to experience better network connectivity while streaming videos, sharing on social media or texting family and friends,” said David Kerr, president, AT&T Pennsylvania.
The new sites are in Armstrong, Clearfield, Crawford, Erie, Forest, Mercer,Venango and Westmoreland counties.
The new location in Mercer County will improve coverage and capacity in the county’s northeastern section near Sandy Lake.
These new sites will also benefit public safety and first responders on FirstNet – public safety’s dedicated communications platform and give Pennsylvania’s first responders access to the network.
