HERMITAGE – A Hermitage woman whose 2-year-old son was found wandering outside an apartment complex in 40-degree weather wearing only a T-shirt and underwear has been sentenced to 3 years’ probation.
Shaquale I. Tensley, 20, of 1396 Bolde Drive, pleaded guilty in July to a charge of endangering the welfare of the child.
Hermitage police said they were called at 1:09 p.m. March 7 when Shenango Park Apartments employees found the boy, who was taken to a local hospital.
Mercer County Children and Youth Services was notified.
Tensley admitted leaving the child unattended in an unlocked apartment, police said. Video security footage showed she had walked away from her unit for 12 minutes, police said.
