• A man reported Friday that about $2,000 in silver coins and quarters was stolen from his home in the 500 block of Albright McKay Road, police said. The man noticed the coins missing Sept. 24 but is unsure when they were taken, police said.

• A girl’s pink bicycle was stolen Friday or Saturday from an unlocked apartment in the 1200 block of Broadway Avenue, police said.

• A man reported that a chainsaw was stolen Sept. 20 from his back porch in the 700 block of South Stateline Road, and a lawn mower was stolen SaturdayOct. 5, the day he filed the reports, police said.


• Robert Blinco Jr., 59, of 259 N. Buhl Farm Drive, Hermitage, has been charged with making terroristic threats and simple assault for telling two women he would take their money and destroy them and that he would kill everyone in the house at 9:18 p.m. Wednesday at home, police said.


• A Hermitage man faces drug charges after an incident at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday near 38 N. Main St.

Police responding to a call of a man throwing rocks at cars said George J. Koren was lighting a pipe that he concealed when the patrolman approached.

In addition to the pipe, Koren, 55, of 991 N. Water Ave., Hermitage, had a bag of marijuana on him, police said. He was cited for possession of  marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Someone stole cash during a burglary reported at about 2:50 p.m. Friday in the sub-100 block of South Oakland Avenue.

Someone forced a door and took $600. Nothing else in the residence was disturbed, police said.

• Someone punctured two truck tires in an incident reported at about 3:50 p.m. Sunday in the 300 block of Ormond Avenue.

• A resident’s shouting chased a group of  six or seven black males who had been kicking a parked vehicle at about 6:40 p.m. Sunday in the 700 block of Alcoma Street, police said. The youths, wearing green bandannas and dark clothing, ran from the scene, police said.

• A homeowner alerted by noise just after midnight scared off a would-be intruder.

The resident heard someone trying to push in a door at about 12:15 a.m. Monday in the 400 block of Baldwin Avenue. The person who was wearing all black clothing ran from the area, police said.

State police

• Someone stole a purse Friday at Avalon Springs Nursing Center, Coolspring Township. The purse, containing a wallet and checkbook, was stolen between 2:15 and 10:45 p.m. from behind a nurse’s station in the North/South Unit, police said.



• Stephen Dunlop, 53, of Youngstown; at 12:45 p.m. Monday in Brookfield Township Park, 7291 Stewart Sharon Road; also charged with an open container violation.



• Jeffrey Perritt, 53, of 893 Valley View Road, Brookfield; at 1:20 p.m. Saturday at home on a probation violation.
