GREENVILLE — Nathan Gibson, who won election last month to Greenville School Board, declined to take his place on the board Monday, leaving the board with a vacancy.

Gibson finished fifth and claimed the board's last open seat in the Nov. 5 election. Mary Reames, John Forbes, Richard Rossi, Richard Powers also won the race for Greenville School Board.

The remaining eight board members will select Gibson's replacement at a special meeting Wednesday, Dec. 18.

The board held its reorganization meeting Monday, with Dennis Webber to return as president. Reames was elected board vice president.
