HERMITAGE – A Hermitage man is in jail after police said he admitted to raping two juvenile relatives over a nine-month period.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, police went to the home of William Michael Clarke, 34, of 1525 S. Keel Ridge Road, Hermitage, on Saturday.
Clarke had intended to turn himself in on an outstanding traffic warrant. But when the officer arrived, Clarke confessed to sexually assaulting two juvenile girls, according to the affidavit.
Police took him to the Hermitage Police Department for additional questioning.
Police said Clarke admitted to having sex with the two children multiple times since the beginning of 2019.
Police said both victims were interviewed briefly at UPMC Horizon and confirmed to have been raped by Clarke, according to the affidavit.
Clarke is charged with six counts of rape of a child, 13 counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 16 years old, six counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child and 19 counts of statutory sexual assault. He was placed in Mercer County Jail on $250,000 bond.
Clark has a preliminary hearing scheduled for 3:15 p.m. Sept. 18 before District Judge Mary Ann Odem.
