Ohio State Highway Patrol is seeking help from the public to find the driver in a Dec. 31 hit-and-run accident that caused life-threatening injuries to a Trumbull County woman.

Police said the crash happened about 5:48 p.m. Dec. 31 on Corey Hunt Road just north of Housel Craft Road, Bristol Township. The hit-and-run vehicle was southbound on Corey Hunt Road. A battery-powered scooter driven by Dave D. Fisher Jr., 34, of Bristolville, Ohio, was northbound on Corey Hunt Road along the southbound lane’s west edge, with Leona M. Fisher, 31, of Bristolville, Ohio, in her own scooter traveling behind Fisher’s scooter.

The hit-and-run vehicle, believed to be a 2011 to 2013 Ford F-150, hit both scooters and fled the scene headed south on Corey Hunt Road, police said.

Dave Fisher was taken to Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. Leona Fisher was flown to University Hospital in Cleveland with what police called life-threatening injuries.

The hit-and-run truck sustained front-end damage, police said.

Bristol Township Fire Department and the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the crash scene. The crash remains under investigation.
