Karl Hart is Grove City Area United Way’s 2006 president.
Other officers elected during the agency’s annual meeting are: Brad Isles, vice president; Cel Yauger, secretary; and Tom Bell, treasurer. Hart and Karen Palmer’s terms on the board were renewed.
New board members are: Vince Disasi of Grove City College; Heather Yoder of McGill, Power, Bell and Associates; and Roger Flynn, who retired from Grove City Area School District. They replace John Sample, Wayne Biddle and Tim Tripey.
The advisory council also approved an amendment which added five funding priority areas to the United Way bylaws: crisis intervention, helping children and youth succeed, strengthening families and promoting self-sufficiency, supporting vulnerable populations and community enrichment through education and development for youth and vulnerable populations.
The United Way annual meeting marks the beginning of the organization’s yearly cycle of community support.
Dr. Sharon Shipton will chair the 2006 campaign, taking over from Jim Wendelschaefer.
